My name is Ben Sweet, founder of Truffle Forager and TCPO.
I began working with truffle dogs in 2021, initially training my own dog before going on to support others through structured, positive training systems. As that work developed, it naturally expanded beyond individual handlers and into larger, more complex operations.
Today, I work internationally with large-scale commercial truffle orchards, including multi-hectare sites managing tens of thousands of trees with multiple dogs and handlers. In these environments, dog performance, harvest protocols, and operational systems have a direct impact on yield, labour efficiency, and long-term sustainability and profitability.
That progression from training individual dogs to analysing and optimising entire harvest operations is what led to the creation of TCPO.
