Owners come to coaching from three places. Some are brand new, have done nothing yet, and want to start properly with Ben from the first session rather than piecing it together alone. Where training has stalled, it nearly always traces back to skipped foundations: not enough drive, unclear communication, or difficulty raised too fast. That is not always obvious from the inside of your own training, and it is often visible to Ben within a single call.
Whichever of the three you are, the format is the same. Ben works from what you and your dog are actually doing: footage of your sessions if you have them, or a plan built from scratch if you have not started yet.

Every route at Truffle Forager runs on the same system. Coaching works out which phase you are in, then moves you forward from there.
If you are starting from zero, coaching gives you the right first steps in the right order, so you never build on a shaky foundation. And when training has stalled, it rarely means starting again: usually one part of the BSH System got skipped or rushed, and everything built on top of it inherited the gap.
Many coaching calls sit inside the Build phase: communication between you and your dog, drive for the work, and difficulty raised at the pace your dog is ready for. That is where most stuck dogs trace back to, and it is often visible within a single call.
From there, coaching moves with you into Search, search patterns, working the wind, proofing against distractions, sharpening the alert, and on into Hunt, where Ben coaches you through real woodland work virtually: reading your dog, working with seasons and conditions, and reviewing footage from your hunts.

You get a video call with Ben, usually 45 to 60 minutes. If you are already training, you send footage of your actual sessions beforehand, Ben reviews it in advance, then walks you through what he is seeing: where the mechanics are breaking down and what to change. If you are brand new, the call starts with where you and your dog are and builds your plan from the ground up. Either way, you leave with a written summary of what to work on next.

If you have not started training yet, there is nothing to send, and that is fine: your first call builds your starting plan instead.
Yes. Plenty of owners book a coaching call before they have done any training at all. The first call maps out exactly where to begin with your dog, and the Foundations Bundle then takes you through those early stages step by step. You do not need any experience, equipment or footage to start.
